New State Laws Allowing CBD To Be Sold At Marijuana Dispensaries

Previously, many marijuana dispensaries did not allow CBD to be sold in their stores because of the fact that both products are ultimately competing for the same business from customers. However, some states have now made changes to allow CBD to be sold at these dispensaries, which opens the doors for CBD to be sold at many new locations. Colorado and Illinois were two of the states that recently enacted this change and other states who are looking at making this change include Maryland, New York, and Utah.

There is some uncertainty because of the variance in these types of laws from state to state. Although there is some overarching federal regulation, the laws ultimately come down to the decision of the state on what the dispensaries should be following. Hopefully more concrete regulations will be put into place for the future so that all states have some sort of consistent agreement regarding where CBD can be sold.
