Rise In Sales of CBD Pharmaceutical Drug

The only CBD-based drug that has been approved for pharmaceutical use by the FDA is Epidiolex, which is used to treat epilepsy patients. Epidiolex was approved in the summer of 2018 for use in patients 2 years and older. Many patients have seen great improvement from their use of Epidiolex because of the CBD’s ability to help control their seizures. Recently, the Epidiolex stock has risen significantly, indicating continued growth in use of the product.

The changes in Epidiolex’s stock and growth in sales are important to understand how the CBD-based prescription has become more popular for epilepsy patients. The drug recently sold more than was expected, indicating that more patients have turned towards CBD as a remedy. The success of this CBD-based prescription provides hope about the future of CBD products and how they can continue to be used to treat a variety of conditions. Additionally, hopefully CBD products will continue to be approved by the FDA, just as Epidiolex was.
